Dante’s Luminaries

An enchanting walk in Jesolo

Dante Alighieri’s verses will liven up the Lido di Jesolo. The street that bears the name of the Supreme Poet has been set up with a series of lights making up some of the most famous verses of the well-known Florentine poet. The street is located in the heart of Jesolo, from piazza Manzoni to piazza Marconi. The rhymes of the father of the Italian language are taken from “The Divine Comedy” and one from “The New Life”. The first lighting has been mounted at the intersection with via Ungaretti, while the last will highlight the intersection with via Dalmazia by a few meters. The lightings will be 8 in total, to which 9 stylized profiles of Dante will add up. The chosen verses are: “A Gallehault indeed, that book and he who wrote it”, “You were not made to live as brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge”, “Let us not Speak of them: look and pass on”, “Love, that exempts no beloved from loving in return”, “Think of the heat of the sun, that turns to wine”, “Love who moves the Sun and other stars”, “Midway through the journey of my life”, “And thence we came forth to see again the stars”.
