Jtaca – Interview with Pietro De Nicola

“Unchanged rates for parking and upcoming school transport”

At the end of the 2023 season and in anticipation of the school reopening, we have taken stock of the situation with Pietro De Nicola, at the helm of Jtaca, a company responsible, among various tasks, for managing parking and school transportation.

  • How was your first year as sole administrator?

I have tried to contribute to achieving the objectives set for the end of 2022 and 2023. We could focus on meeting the annual budgets and improving the financial results to demonstrate the company’s recovery in terms of growth after the challenging years marked by Covid. However, I don’t believe that increasing economic performance should be our primary goal to pursue. The task I personally set for myself is to preserve, and if possible, enhance the qualitative level of the managed services, while continuing to ensure maximum efficiency and organization.

  • Regarding the managed services, how are these objectives pursued?

In summary, in 2023, street parking rates have remained unchanged, and existing benefits have been guaranteed to users, especially the “Jesolo Parking Card” for residents, “iMoneta,” and “iMoneta+” primarily for local businesses. Furthermore, the offering of parking lots with higher service standards, such as fencing, automation, and 24/7 video surveillance, has been expanded. An intervention has been carried out for the P55/B “Nember” parking lot, providing a total of 140 parking spaces.

  • How are you organizing the launch of the school transportation service for the 2023/24 school year?

It is the service that requires the most care and specific attention among those entrusted to us. The relationship with the children and their families is traditionally based on the utmost effort in aspects related to vehicle checks, compliance with regulations regarding

employed personnel, adoption of surveillance, video surveillance, and localization services, attention to logistical needs without neglecting safety and punctuality constraints. The rates and benefits for larger families have also been maintained unchanged for the 2023/2024 school year. We are also setting up a dedicated schedule for our office to handle registrations for the service.

  • What are the next projects?

We are working on implementing an experimental light vehicle rental service that can replace the traditional bike-sharing service, which is currently being phased out, with a newer and more flexible offering. The company is also conducting a series of studies aimed at identifying possible responses to the demand for additional parking areas, a need that is strongly felt in some areas of Lido.
