From Treviso to the sources of the Sile river along the Treviso – Ostiglia cycle path

A naturalistic and suggestive experience that you shouldn’t miss stretches along the route that goes from Treviso to the sources of the Sile river in Torreselle di Piombino Dese, through the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path. An itinerary that offers cyclists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history and nature of the area passing through places of great interest such as the Cervara oasis, Morgano with its church, Badoere and the wonderful Sile springs, a true naturalistic paradise. Starting from the city of Treviso with its historic buildings and its 16th-century walls protected by the waters of the Sile, leave the Santi Quaranta gate and, following the signs, take a route along the Treviso-Ostiglia cycle path. This track follows the ancient Treviso-Ostiglia railway and offers a safe and panoramic route through the countryside. An unmissable stop is the Cervara oasis in Quinto di Treviso, a protected natural area that extends for 25 hectares. Here cyclists can take a regenerating break surrounded by the beauty of the flora and fauna: it is a true paradise for the lovers of ornithology thanks to the presence of numerous species of birds that live in this area. Riding on, you will arrive at Badoere di Morgano, where a short detour will take you to the unique square made up of two semi-circular porticoes that have housed artisans’ shops and houses for over three centuries, as well as the famous antiques market. The last stretch of this exciting journey will lead you to the sources of the Sile river, a true Eden. The Sile river, the longest spring river in Europe, flows from the subsoil offering an enchanting landscape with centuries-old woods and endless meadows. The journey ends in Piombino Dese (PD) where the Sile is born, at the discovery of the majestic 16th-century Villa Cornaro designed by architect Andrea Palladio.
