Antiche Mura
Jesolo dedicates a period -between the months of September and October- to the re-evaluation of the city’s archaeological area. The ancient Monastery of San Mauro will be subject to archaeological study and analysis activities by the Department of Humanistic Studies of the Cà Foscari University of Venice, under the scientific direction of Prof. Sauro Gelichi. In parallel with the excavation activities, guided tours of the archaeological site will be offered again from September 20 to October 11, 2023 every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10 a.m., dedicated to all citizens and history and archaeology enthusiasts. Admission is free without reservation. This is a project Jesolo particularly cares about and rediscovers a historical identity that has remained buried for many years.
