Triathlon’s great challenge, back to Jesolo!

After the success of the past editions held in September 2021 and 2022, Ironman comes back to Jesolo earlier, in fact this year’s challenge is scheduled for May 7.

Iron women and men measure themselves in a competition of international order that finds, in the Jesolo leg, one of its first Italian and European events.

Ironman, a term that is immediately associated with the well-known Marvel comic book character, is not at all a rhetorical figure of hyperbole but fits perfectly with the super-heroic range of this challenge.

The race is composed by three different disciplines that take place in succession and seamlessly; in fact, it consists of a 1.9-kilometer swim, 90-kilometer bike ride and 21.1-kilometer run (half marathon).

It thus combines three sports of different natures, yet they maintain two fundamental characters in common: those of speed and endurance. These are the crucial qualities for the challengers who, in addition to constant and diversified training, also have to hold up psychologically to the magnitude of this race. In fact, Ironman represents not only a physical test but also a mental one: being able to maintain lucidity while taking the body to the limit is a challenge for true superheroes.

The triathlon race has an international impact and therefore thousands of athletes from all over the world will come to Jesolo for the event.

Moreover, the city of Jesolo, thanks to its conformation and natural landscapes, lends itself optimally to the challenge between the open sea, flat hinterland and mild climate. For these reasons, combined with a widespread organization and its large receptive capacity, the membership for the new edition is estimated to be more than double that of last year. The starting and finishing point is the lighthouse beach where the entire Triathlon village will be set up with registration office and merchandising, here the challenge will begin with the photographic and suggestive dive into the water of the swimmers.

As cyclists and finally as marathoners, the athletes will continue along a route that, as in previous years, will expand along the entire length of the shoreline from one side of the river to the other.

It will then continue inland, thus reaching all corners of that tongue of land between sea and lagoon and between the Sile and Piave that is Jesolo.
