Nikola Tesla: a man full of charm, energy and mystery!

Nikola Tesla, who was born in Slovakia and lived between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, was one of the most influential scientists in the last century. His studies culminated with an important phenomenon absolutely indispensable in our everyday life: the wireless line. In fact, this innovative way of transmitting information was created precisely by Tesla. Besides having contributed to the development of the radio, he thought that it would be possible to build a large machine capable of distributing electricity to everyone through waves and, above all, for free. This phenomenon underlying the transfer of electrical energy, and therefore of information, was put into practice by means of a generator of very high-frequency electrical charges, later called “Tesla coil”, which could generate electrical discharges similar to the lightning produced during thunderstorms. The energy built up by these electrical discharges was able to create an electromagnetic field capable of generating waves used to transfer energy and information from one point to another. In short, an ancestor of the WiFi line. At the Science Factory, a workshop dedicated to Nikola Tesla has been created where some of the principles that he studied are represented in the form of experiments and experiences.
