The Cavallino Treporti Veterinary Center was founded in July this year by Drs. Nicoletta Salviato and Stefano Vio, for over twenty years united in providing care for our 4-legged friends by adhering to the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and competence; thanks to a team of veterinarians who work in synergy using technological instrumentation and diagnostic and therapeutic equipment of excellence ensuring the most modern veterinary care and lots of love in caring for and healing our little and big friends.

A point of reference for Jesolo and the islands of Venice, among the many specialized services offered by CAV is veterinary dermatology, aimed at solving one of the most frequent and annoying skin diseases in dogs and cats. One of the main symptoms in the presence of skin diseases is itching, and very often the search for the underlying cause can be long and complex. In most cases these are allergic factors from flea bites, or atopic dermatitis or food allergies, but other times the symptom may be related to far more serious disorders. For this reason, at the CAV we also conduct useful analyses to identify autoimmune-based diseases, tumors, and infections that can lead to general endocrine disorders such as hyperadrenocorticism, hypothyroidism, and diabetes mellitus, going to predispose or aggravate the symptom of itching.

Dr. Salviato, in addition to serving as medical director, personally handles clinical cases of dermatology by researching the causes through a personalized dermatological procedure and proposing, depending on the case, the most suitable tests among:

– Trichogram

– Skin scraping

– Scotch test

– Dermatoscopy

– Ear cytology

– Skin biopsy

– Complete hematobiochemical examination

– Thyroid profile

– Load test for hyperadrenocorticism

– Mycological examination

In addition, special attention is given to anti-parasite therapy and possible exclusion diet with hydrolysates in order to best treat the diseases and ensure healing.
